1958-1964: Kuala Langat Champion) singles & doubles in conjunction with Sukarman Abdul Rahim)
1960: Winner of the Selangor Malay singles
1964: Winner of the Novice Cup Men perserangan Melayu Selangor
He is a former player, coach and father of Sidek Bersaudara who represented Malaysia in badminton on the national and international stage.
The tenacity and attitude of training his children consisting of Misbun, Razif, Jalani, Rahman and Rashid with high discipline enabled them to succeed in winning the prestigious championship.
Most stealing the spotlight and the record of national sports history to this day is their success in winning the Thomas Cup in Kuala Lumpur in 1992 as well as emerging champions of the All England Championships in 1982 through the pairing of Razif and Jalani and the bronze medal in badminton at the Olympics in Barcelona. (Razif & Jalani – 1992) and Atlanta (Rashid – 1996).
The great and glorious achievements achieved by the five Sidek Bersaudara, are the result of the dedication of the late Dato ‘Haji Mohd Sidek who laid a solid foundation for Malaysia to dominate the sport from the 70’s era until now.
This success not only involves outstanding achievements as a player but also in the field of coaching. Mention the names of his five children except Jalani, they are all quite synonymous and proud in the coaching staff of the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM).
